Capt. Marcia Baker
Marcia is an experienced sailor on inland (Illinois and Texas) lakes, Caribbean, Bahamas and San Diego Bay on sailboats from 12 ft to 50 ft in length. Marcia completed American Sailing Association certifications (ASA 101, 103, 104) and obtained her ASA Basic Keelboat 201 Instructor certification in 2009. After owning Sunfish, Laser, and Precision day-sailors, she purchased her forth boat — a Catalina 22 keelboat, “Two-Part Harmony” 17 years ago. Marcia has held a USCG 25-ton Master Captain’s license, with auxiliary sail endorsement, since 2016. She enjoys teaching Girl Scouts introductory sailing classes at summer camp and racing year-round on a J30 with the Grapevine Sailing Club, Texas.
Marcia is the Program Director for the Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndromes (SADS) Foundation, working remotely from her Dallas home. She holds a M.S. in Health Education from Southern Illinois University and B.S. in Music Education from University of Missouri.
